The Brain Dump

Hello all,

My lord I'm tired. I may have to move Doodle Day. I teach classes on Monday now, which means I have to get up at 6am and drag as many English words out of unwilling students as I can, ending with a class full of brain-dead art students who don't give a shit about the language but nonetheless have to take my class because the department heads want to show off the foreigners. This means throw my time away on non-English majors while the classes that have the students who actually want to speak get crammed together till their pushing fifty occupants--and a class of fifty really gives everyone a chance to practice their English. . . .

Long story short, I am not in the mood to get my doodle on.

I'll pick it back up next week. I don't know. My flashcards sit in a stack, mocking me. Blarg.

In other news, I found further evidence for why the internet is THE greatest thing humanity has yet to devise: The Burgomeister's Books. An online library. Hell's--fucking--bells. With one click of my mouse, I went from intellectual starvation to more books than I can care to finish. I already sent the dude an email in which I all but worship him for his generosity. Once I srounge around a few dollars, I'm going to donate to the site. Christina and I were giddy. Add to that Academic Earth and I am optimistic for the world again (Christina and I started The America Novel Since 1945, and now we have an online resource to get a copy of most of the books!). Nerd heaven. God bless this series of tubes.

That's all for tonight. I'm tired and have a full day tomorrow. I always love waking up before the sun rises, don't you?
